My tattoos...
My first tattoo is along my lower back, my sister took me to get it as soon as I turned 18! I wanted to surprise my parents and couldn't wait to go home and show them..haha! When I got home, a huge grin on my face, my mom said...so let's see it! I said "what? see what?" How did she know? I guess it really is true that parents have this magical, telepathic, ESP skills, although I have yet to find and develop mine! No, actually, come to find out, the tattoo shop called and left a message at my house to confirm the appointment! LOL, it figures!
My second tattoo, the one around my belly button, unfortunately was drawn/designed by my ex-husband! And appropriately, it hurt like HELL!!! I think I may have cracked a few bones in my sister's hand that day! LOL But no worries...it is a painful scar to remind me of my past, and how I've overcome it...and at least its not his NAME!!!! Ha!
Lastly, I added a butterfly above my lower back tattoo...because I thought it needed something...and what girl doesn't LOVE butterflies! I think it represents quite the metamorphosis in myself...I emerged pretty well from my "old" life and have an AMAZING "new" life!!
I have to say though, it's been a while and I am starting to get the "itch"! Ron has none and wants to get one too! We have decided that we will both get one in Vegas...our trip that we've been dreaming of for quite a while and has yet to be scheduled:(! I was thinking that I would like to get one that incorporates my zodiac sign, Pisces, with Ayva's zodiac sign, Cancer, or a four-leaf clover because I am ridiculously good at finding them, a trait I inherited from my Daddy!!
I love getting tattoos but have a real pet-peeve about where I will put them. I don't want them to be anywhere where they will show if I want to dress up and look nice. I think there is a time a place to show them, and I like to be able to pick the time and place...LOL.
haha...I like looking at the pic of my back...its a point of view I don't see to often! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the stories behind your tats!...They look GREAT....I always wanted to get one, but I never loved a design so much that I would make a committment to it....So funny what you said about the four leaf clovers...My grandmother (mom's mom) who passed away when I was really young, had that ability...She would find them ALL the time....What might Ron get?....I like the idea of a hybrid zodiac sign for your choice...You'll have to share the design....I'll be finishing my paper today....Once this one's done, another is due NEXT week...How many more classes do you have to go?
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! I got to be a title in your blog...If I didn't before (and I did....) I am really a part of the Sisterhood! So you have the luck of the Irish, without being Irish...exactly where does the clover skill fit on a resume? Well, I love the butterfly metaphor, because you can't stay a fuzzy, colorless, caterpillar, which clearly YOU HAVEN'T! I'm really sorry that you have to look at the naval one every day, but the great things about scars is that their sole purpose is to HEAL A WOUND, and again, you've done that very nicely....and KUDOS to not having them everywhere...probably when you were reading my RAINDROPS ON ROSES post about my 2 (almost 3) kids, you noticed Josh's tatoo sleeves! He is now in school for elementary ed and has already resigned himself to the fact that he'll probably be wearing lots of long sleeves!! Thanks again for this Cindy namesake post and I really hate the fact that you seem to have a flat stomach....
ReplyDeleteA- I am taking my full Master's program so I'm not due to finish up till next Spring! I absolutely love it though, and it's definitely going fast!! Ron is thinking about getting the Red Hot Chili Peppers symbol tattooed on the back of his calf. I'll def be sure to share the design (or finished product) with my girls!
ReplyDeleteC- I hoped you would appreciate the shout out- lol! It's so true about the "scars"...they definitely are healed wounds, and like I said, I surprisingly have no worries about it! It's just another page in my book! Ha! And about the flat stomach...hey, it's a work in progress! Love ya girls!!
P.S. Cindy...I strategically placed my hands to cover up my "love handles"
ReplyDeletei still hate you....JK...no worries about tummy pix any time soon from Florida!!!!!
ReplyDelete"Give it away, give it away, give it away now..."...LOVE the Chili Peppers.... The group AND the vegetables-hee, hee!...Very cool....Post the real deal when all is said and done
