Rainbows

During the course of this...well, course...I have often looked back through my blogs, and I think I can see some sort of progression...a rainbow out of a dark sky. I think I started off somewhat cynical and bitter about the things that happened to me in the past, I needed for some reason...you can call it venting...to air all my dirty laundry. But somewhere along this journey, I "met" some very wonderful people, who have supported me, been a shoulder to lean on, offered advice, a "listening"ear and helped me continue on my journey in the "right" direction! I have come to feel very close to my "blogging sisters"...and am more sure than ever, that everything in my life led me to Ron, then to this Master's program and then to all of you!! I mean it when I say, this is the "best damn class assignment I have ever had!" This has been such a wonderful journey so far and I hope it is the start of a long-standing "friendship" with all of you! My sister had a pen-pal from Canada, that she gained correspondance with in elementary school and this past winter, they finally got together and met...so I definitely think there is hope for us...LOL. Keep it real, sisters and here's to hopefully more than just a few more weeks of chatting!

  1. Hey girlfriend! I'm seriously echoing the "best damn class assignment ever." I've even been sharing some of the comments on my blogs just so a selected few of my peers and a selected few of my own kids (ha, there's only two) can just try and grasp the depth of our circle. It's not that we are an inclusive society....no, scratch that...we ARE! It's cool that you took some time to vent and share all about the marriage-from-hell in our little community. I mean, I never talk about my almost-little-man Archer, but our little circle is such a caring group of wonderful women, that it just felt safe, you know! and what's really hilarious is that I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED MY WRITING PIECE. You mentioned a "wonderful journey," and our blogs have been just that. I mean we are sharing Jenn's wedding preparations, learning the story behind Tricia's memorable jewelry, hating Adrienne because she'll be learning the hula and eating roasted pigs with apples. Whatever happened to NO TEACHER LEFT BEHIND, Adrienne! It's funny but I keep hearing that Deniece Williams song, "Let's Hear it for the Boy," (only I have been rockin' it with GIRL!) THANKS UNE!!!!!

  2. I second that! This has been a great venue to be ourselves; yes we're teachers & students by trade, but we're all people. This blog has allowed us to open up to each other and be expressive and personal like never before. Isn't that what makes learning real, afterall? Aren't we always told to "make it relevant" to the kids' lives if we what their learning to be longlasting and meaningful? Touche! We've been had! This is the best damn assignment ever! You're right. I love your colorful font to stress the rainbow analogy. It's been a privilege getting to know you and sharing my own stuff, I really appreciate all of your insight, suggestions and feedback. We should all figure out a way to stay in touch (privately email addresses or emails, etc.)

  5. Hey all, i'm just catching up; I've been "out" for a couple of days. Linds, I'm glad we got all the laundry because that's all part of your story. Everybody has laundry, believe me. The important thing is the rainbow. Not everybody gets to that point, but you did and it's because you are a strong, brave woman!
