Besides this annoying heat wave that we're having, you could say that my day started out much less than perfect. I woke up this morning, got in the shower and when I went to go and wake my boyfriend up, the power went out! It was out all morning, so...no blow dryer, no straightener, no COFFEE...and one very frustrated me. As if this weren't bad enough, my daughter's daycare called and said that she and her two kids were sick with the stomach flu...eeewww. Enough said...I was on the phone quicker than quick finding somewhere else for her to go! I was running late, but I was a woman with a mission. I needed to get Ayva out the door with her dance shoes, and her two dance costumes for her dress rehearsal tonight! Mission accomplished. Out the door, riding to work with the Jeep top off...two girls on the open road! There were plenty of other annoying things that crept up throughout the day, but when I got Ayva to her rehearsal and saw how beautiful she was in her cute little costumes with her cute little friends...and then dancing on stage like the little whimsical fairy that she is...made all the hustle and bustle totally worth it!! It wasn't just another bad day after all!
Is it vain to say that if I had no power-hence no access to "power tools", I would have called in sick...no lie.....I just don't think the rest of the world would be able to handle my hair's frizzy explosion :)....You are a trouper !....I LOVED the dance pictures of your daughter...Her mommy was a problem solver today and she got to see you in action!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness those pictures are precious! Mornings are the make-or-break moment of my day too so I totally feel your pain. I think you deserve a standing ovation for surviving without the coffee alone! Dunkin' Donuts just doesn't cut it when you're used to your own home-brewed! Good thing is, today's another day :)
ReplyDeleteI love little ballerina pictures! My daughter is 25 and just recently she reconnected with her old dance teachers from 9+ years ago. This year she was asked to help out with their recital which is this weekend, so she's offically a stage mom! I had to take her to the "official stage mom meeting" and it was serious deja vu and myself and her teachers just all had a great laugh and lots of hugs....what's really fun is when you recycle all the old costumes to goddaughters, etc....(don't worry..there's still at least 6 hanging in my closet....)
ReplyDeleteI know! Ayva has inherited all my old costumes from when I was in dance class...I always knew I would pass them along to my daughter! It is sooo much fun...seeing her in her costumes, shining like a star on stage makes me cry everytime! I'm such a baby when it comes to that stuff, but she makes me so happy and proud!!
